Art & Soul

Cultivating Creativity:
1) Stimulate your brain. You may need to be alone for this, but often groups can stimulate one greatly. Read, browse, watch, listen...

2) Rest your brain. Jog, knit, daydream, cook, shower, doodle...

Allow your mind to wander until you feel inspired. Don't shut out ideas.

**Tip: Think on paper.

3) Create.

"Creativity is an exploration of our inner selves." -Judith Slaw

Remember, you're not looking to get a second job as an artist or writer. The point is to express yourself and just let loose. "Sometimes that flowing in no time gets blocked by small negative voices telling us our art isn't good enough. This can be difficult or painful but it is important to recognize these voices about your art, as the same voices can surface in other areas in your life." Judith Shaw - Life on the Edge

I love building miniature homes, especially fairy homes! and cooking up interesting dishes! and writing (children's fantasy  and sometimes poetry <3)!

"Everyone can benefit from art therapy. It's the idea of self-exploration that can often lead a person to some insightful conclusions about themselves." Art Therapy Blog

Benefits include a general sense of relief and overall better mental health

You can...
> Build self-confidence.
> Make something positive out of a loss, bad experience or depression.
> Resolve conflicts.
> Maintain your integrity.
> Make thoughts and feelings clear.
-Ebersole&Hess, 1998

"Getting lost in the flow of creativity can lead to a greater appreciation to the beauty of life which surrounds us." Judith Shaw - Life on the Edge
